Communication with your team and parents is key to a successful season. Some coaches will offer this task to either the assistant coach or a team manager.
The coaches welcome email to your team should outline the following information:
- Intro – coach, asst. Coach and team manager & contact info (or ask for support if you need assistants on the bench). Only two people are allowed on the bench per game.
- Season start / end dates, weekly practice info
- Paris Soccer Club Rules and/or Twin Rivers Soccer League Rules
- 24 hour rule – asking parents to gather information/facts to determine if there is an issue, if so, to reach out to the coach the next day to collect their thoughts and compose a respectful message.
- Information about the Teddy Bear Picnic (U4-U6) / Paris Soccer Club U8 tournament / Twin Rivers League tournaments for U10-U14 & Playoffs for U17 & U21 teams.
- Snack schedule (optional)
- Absences – ask players to notify you of any practice and game dates when they won’t be available (holidays, work, school trips, etc.) so that the coach can determine if s/he needs to call up players for their games to avoid needing to forfeit if not enough players.
- Parent contact info – ask parents, step parents and guardians, who wish it, for their contact info so that you can email all parents about updates throughout the season.
