Tournaments / Playoff – Twin Rivers League
Our older divisions in the Twin Rivers League, including U10, U12, U14 will have a tournament weekend organized by Twin Rivers League and will be hosted by one of the soccer clubs or co-hosted by two neighbouring soccer clubs. Tournaments have a few changes to the rules, including:
- Game duration, including finals, may be reduced from lengths of normally scheduled games during the season. Game duration will be provided with tournament schedules.
- Overtime play for semi-final and final games, if the game is tied at the end of regular game time.
- Player shootouts will occur, if after overtime the game score is still tied. Five players on each team will kick then go to sudden death penalty kicks until there is a winner. Every player (unless injured or removed from the game, or serving a current suspension) must attempt a kick before any player can have a second kick. Any player can be included in the first 5 kicks; they do not have to be on the field at the end of the game. Goalies can only be changed at the end of the game and cannot switch during kicks (unless goalie is injured).
- Goal differential will be recorded exactly as the game outcome, and not adjusted to a maximum 5 goal differential being used to record the final game score.
- A call-up player can only play for one team during the tournament.
- Any yellow / red cards received during regular season play, carry over to tournament play. Any suspensions received carry into tournament games.
A formal schedule will be available a few weeks before the tournament on Power Up website and the scores and tournament standings will be updated to view on the Twin Rivers Power Up – Game Results.
The U17-U21 divisions will not have a tournament but will enter into Playoffs that will be scheduled on their regular game nights for a few weeks following their regular season of play.
